Find out about what is great about the New Clarence, our share issue and hear the Humber Harmony Choir sing.
I personally believe we need to save The New Clarence because community pubs stimulate community activity and help to reduce social isolation. We need them to thrive rather than die.
Catherine and Ian talk about the plans to Save the New Clarence and what you can do to help
The New Clarence has played a significant part in my life; the sense of comfort and the atmosphere in there brings people together. The number of amazing people that I have met is unreal and I miss it so much, miss being a part of that community.
The owners initiated the moratorium period in October 2023 and the community got to work.
I have been visiting the New Clarence for 35 years for good ale, food and company. I have played for a darts team there, helped CAMRA beer festivals. I've taken my family for meals, work colleagues for after work wind-downs, gone there for after theatre drinks and enjoyed music from local artists. It is rare for one pub to tick so may boxes, but pubs - cornerstones of our communities are under threat. I want to see the New Clarence return as a refurbished 'Peoples' Pub'.
