Latest Update: Shares still available ahead of summer 2025 reopening
July 2025: The structural works are underway and when we have an end date for those we will be able to announce the date for reopening The New Clarence.
In the meantime the signage has been restored and we are working on kitting out the kitchen and cellar and planning delicious food and drink offerings.
We still have £10k of shares available if anyone else wants to be a part of it please email shares@hullcommunitypub.com to request a share form.

What we are about
We are a group of people from Hull and the surrounding area who are concerned about the rate at which our local pubs are closing. It started off being about just saving The New Clarence but we now want to achieve something for the whole city. Creating a place where individuals and groups can relax and enjoy good food, drinks and music with space for Community groups to meet.
About The New Clarence:
The New Clarence is the only pub classified as an Asset of Community Value in the city. Its city centre location, wide range of facilities and accessibility make it a great community space.
